Dr. Theodoros Georgiou

Dr Theodoros Georgiou is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at Heriot-Watt University. He is currently leading the MakerSpace at the National Robotarium and is the Deputy director of the Interactive and Trustworthy Technologies Research Group at Heriot-Watt University. His research interests are primarily on technology assisted healthcare, focusing on novel ways of augmenting traditional rehabilitation of physical and neurological conditions (such as hemiparetic stroke), using prototype wearable, holdable, and ubiquitous devices, and/or facilitated by robotic agents. Dr Georgiou is also interested in understanding how information is perceived through the haptic modality and how that can be used in healthcare and rehabilitation.
