ECR member Dr. Stefano Albrecht is guest co-editor of a new special issue on Autonomous Agents Modelling Other Agents, to be published in the journal Artificial Intelligence.
Robotics: Utilities and Beyond organised by the IGEM Scottish Section and IET Scotland South East Network took place at Apex Grassmarket Hotel, Edinburgh. Keynote speakers included Sam Wilson, Head of UK Business Development at ULC Robotics; Wez Little, Innovations Director at Synthotech Limited; Wolfgang Merkt and Joao Moura, from the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics.
Dr Patricia A Vargas, Dr Renan Moioli, Dr Micael Couceiro, Prof Josh Bongard and Prof Phil Husbands are leading and organising a special session that will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 8-13 July this year.
The IEEE Special Session on Evolutionary Robotics is part of the WCCI 2018, which is the largest technical event in the field of computational intelligence.
Sethu Vijayakumar appeared at TEDx Glasgow on Friday 1st June, giving a talk entitled 'Sending your robot to Mars? List of things to pack'.
In the talk, Sethu outlined the capabilities that would be required in an unmanned robotic pre-deployment mission to Mars. Three live robotics demonstrations were also included. Students from the centre joined Sethu to assist with the robots.
