Gavin Abercrombie is an Assistant Professor in Natural Language Processing (NLP) at Heriot-Watt University. His research focuses on safety, fairness, and ethics in NLP. In particular, he is in ensuring that diverse perspectives are incorporated into NLP systems. He obtained his PhD in 2020 from the Univeristy of Manchester, and was a postdoctoral Research Associate at Heriot-Watt from 2020 to 2023
