The next IPAB workshop will take place this thursday in IF 4.31/4.33 at the University of Edinburgh, Professor Sethu Vijayakumar will be speaking. Pastries will be provided.
Title: Shared Autonomy -- The Future of Interactive Robotics
Abstract: There are significant challenges for enabling higher levels of autonomy in robotic platforms of the future. Sethu will address several of the topics that they are tackling in the Statistical Machine Learning and Motor Control (SLMC) group, including real time perception and tracking, topology based motion representation and synthesis, compliant manipulation and real-time data driven learning for optimisation. Sethu will also introduce the novel approaches for Shared Autonomy in legged, wheeled and exoskeleton devices that they are enabling to bridge the gap between teleoperation and full autonomy.
Sethu will briefly talk about the projects they are initiating as part of the new RAI hubs in this domain.
