Scotland’s Futures Forum and the RSE’s Young Academy of Scotland will launch a video and engagement project to explore people’s aspirations for Scotland in 2030.
#OurFutureScotland challenges everyone – from the First Minister and other party leaders, to leading business and technology figures, and award-winning authors and artists – to consider the kind of country they want Scotland to be in the future.
A film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6QOeS37XvQ capturing the aspirations and ideas of an array of leading Scots will be shown at an event in the Scottish Parliament. Professor Sethu Vijayakumar from the Centre, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP, actor Brian Cox, Scots Makar Jackie Kay and writer Christopher Brookmyre are among the contributors, who share their aspirations and visions.
The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Brian Cox, writer Christopher Brookmyre, robotics expert and Robot Wars judge Prof Sethu Vijayakumar, and Clare Adamson MSP and chaired by the Presiding Officer, Ken Macintosh MSP.
Also joining the discussion will be writer and artist David Baillie, chief executive of Scottish Renewables Claire Mack, V&A Dundee director Philip Long, human rights lawyer Debora Kayambe and Futures Forum directors Sir Andrew Cubie and Louise Macdonald, the chief executive of Young Scot.
The event is open to the public although numbers will be limited. Please email ScotlandsFuturesForum@parliament.scot to reserve a place.
